If you dont want the hassle... then legally you can leave it at a police station or hospital...
Walk in and say... "I don't want this baby" and walk out...
So I still see no reason to kill it

Pro choice. I think of it as a induced miscarriage. some people just dont need kids at their point in life such as a college student. I raher give the kid the full support money wise before I have one.

I believe that abortion is wrong in most cases. However lets say a woman is raped by a man and he winds up getting her preggers. Then I feel it is ok to have an abortion because it is not like the woman went out sleeping around with everone and was basically asking for it. She got raped she should not have to bear the burden of one mans sins for the rest of her life. She would be tramatized not only from the rape but being forced to keep a baby that was conceived by an evil sick man she would need a ton of counciling.
Another reason for abortion is if you are going to save that child a world of pain and suffering. If he is going to be born that sick like say have sickle cell anemia or hatchkins disease or is going to be rele deformed then i also think abortion is should be accepted in those 2 cases.

I just went through this discussion with my girlfriend.
First off, i dont think it is an acceptable form of birth control.
That said, there has been evidence that infantcide has been a common human practice for millions of years. one band of people end up with a new kid, the food has been scarce, another mouth to feed, so they kill the baby and raise the ones that come into play in more prosperous times.
As far as all human life being sacred, i dont much buy into that either.
times where i fully agree where abortion should be an acceptable option? Well, first of with underage girls. a girl is 16, gets prego, has a kid, is on wellfare for the next 18 years and the kid grows up in a shitty end of town and ends up becoming involved with gangs, criminalism, etc etc.
However, she gets an abortion, hopefully she learns her lesson, completes highschool, goes to college, meets a great guy, has a kid and they can afford to give the kid all the opportinuty and more likely raise a productive member of socioty.
Rape. I dont believe any woman should have to raise her attackers kid.

If me and her diddnt work out she would probably get full custody and have to raise 2 children even with child support that is not going to be an easy task.
Our decision to continue the pregnancy was not based on moral factors, religious ideology. even though it has been 2 months im completly in love with her, ive never been with a woman who makes me feel the way i do when im with her, and vice verca.
That is the factor that really made the decision for us, is we both fully believe we can make this work.
NOW, for all of you who have NEVER been in a situation like mine, who have never had a raped sister who got pregnant, who have never found that thier child will most likely be born severely retarded, to all those people who sit on thier ****ing high moral ground who have NEVER been in a situation where the possibility of abortion is a real world option......

Dude, having a baby isnt like taking a ****.
It can wreck the womans body, it can kill her. it can cause a multitude of health problems, and chilbirth can even leave a woman barren.
Why take the risk? there is NO birth control that is %100. NONE. So should people simply cease having sex aaltogether untill they want to procreate?
naa, childbirth is a huge thing and can cause far too many health issues to simply have the kid and adopt it out.

For Pro Choice: There need to be limits.. Not just, "Oh I decided to willingly have sex with some random person so Im going to kill this baby." It IS killing.
For young children that have sex 12,13,14,15 etc.. That is grounds to me for abortion, their body (usually) won't be able to handle child birth.
For Rape Victims, Abortion should be an option..
As far as adoption goes, unless you find a family that is willing to adopt at birth, life would be hell for a child to have to hop from foster family to foster family hoping to find a good home..
It's a sensitive subject and I am by no means a devoted Christian, but I feel that a child should have a chance at life..
Too many variables, and I can say that eventually it will be pro-choice and there will be people having abortions all day left and right just because they were stupid and didn't want to wear the raincoat..

Oh, believe me, I know... My Girlfriend (believe it or not) is actually allergic to something in condoms (whether it's the latex or the or the lubricant). We've talked to her doctor about it and she said that it is somthing that happens with alot of girls.
I look at this subject in alot of ways.. It kind of affects me close to home.. Because my girlfriend of 3 years had endometriosis and has already had surgery to try and correct it. This means that if this relationship actually makes it (which I plan on asking her to marry me in a couple of months) then we will probably never be able to have children..
It's just really hard to look at pro-choice as a good thing when I have this to look forward to..

i dunno... there are just so many possibilitys with a pregnancy. Idealistically all of them are planned, all of them are born healthy, and the woman never dies.
but relationships are confusing enough as it is. there are so many factors that it is impossible to understand another persons situation and thier reasons for undergoing abortion as an answer. to simple say "Only rape cases" or "Only incest" "Only when mothers life is in danger" they are good rules and all but the reality of the unpredictability of life in general sometimes it is the best decision when it sounds like it isnt.
problem is life just isnt fair. Im glad with the decision my girl and i made, im really looking forward to this even though im so stressed i havent taken a **** in 3 days. lol....
My only issue is with other people that do not understand a couples private situation telling them what the have to do.

I'm Pro Choice.
There are a lot of personal reasons that I am not going to delve into. It is true that it is safer to have an abortion than to actually go through the childbirth (in terms of the mothers health), however, emotionally it is a roller coaster and it does take a while to get through. You never forget.

I'm pro choice, but I think it's a little more complicated than saying...."for" or "against" abortion like the poll says. Personally I don't really see pro-choice as being "for" abortion because I think abortion is a terrible thing, but in my opinion I think a woman should have the right to choose rather than the government telling her what to do. I also don't think it's a matter that should be legislated....in particular by right wing idiots in Congress that pray and ask god for his guidance before voting on issues rather than voting on the facts.

the biggest issue IMO is that, the option must be available or worst things will happen, remember before abortion was arround people would do coat-hangger abortions and abortions in the street or by someone that isnt qualified.
