to keep my mustang. Yea, it's not worth it. I LOVE my car I'm just tired of all my bad luck with it, etc. but that's just dumb.

Someone mentioned that if I don't know what car I want to buy instead of the 'stang, then why sell it? Well that's been lingering in my head.

So, I guess I can start modding again! All the money I've been saving for a new car I think I'll use towards my car.

Couple plans.

I have $2000 dollars from insurance from that recent fender bender. I think I'll buy a brand new urethane Saleen kit WITH the 1-piece wing AND center exhaust rear valence. This will be around $1400. Paint/install will be around $1200 for total of $2600. I think I can convince my parents to pay most of the difference ($600) for my Christmas presents. (At least some).

Next problem: I'll either need to get the Chicane center exhaust extentions for $360 and use my current SLP catback OR buy the actual Borla center exhaust catback from Saleen. Saleen actual has the cheapest price I can find which is $1000 for the cat back

I'll be able to sell my current Saleen kit and the SLP catback (if I got Borla) and make up some of the money. Maybe $500 total I can make, which would mean I would only have to pay $500 for the new catback.

If all went as planned, $500 later of my own money for a brand new kit, no more paint peeling and fiberglass chipping, brand new catback with some tone, and a new, sweet looking ride!

EDIT: I forgot about the new fender and headlight, so add about $450 from my own pocket as well.

 

keep the slp cb and get the extentions...i thought you loved the slp?

Go with something different than the Saleen kit.Bad fitment and alot of prep work.

I do love my SLP. However, at times I wish it had a little more "tone." Also, I'm a little worried how the extensions will work with the SLP and the center rear valence. I know it's supposed to fit, but it's more of a second option than doing it the real way. To insure a perfect fit, I kinda like the Borla... we'll see what happens.

That may be true, but I LOVE the look of Saleen. Also, it's probably the most recognized mustang out there. Driving down the street I would get more looks with a Saleen kit than a Roush kit. Granted, the Roush would definately be an eye catcher, however, I love the drastic lines, shapes, and "fins" of the Saleen. Also, I've always been a HUGE fan of center exaust.

I took a quick look at the Roush. I would have to get the side exhaust, whihc is 900, so only 100 less than the center exhaust. Also, I would need a stock mustang rear bumper. So all in all I might save 500 with the Roush, but I really just am not a huge fan of it.
I think with the saleen wing, it'll look killer. Also 50% tinted taillights, saleen badges... it'll come together nicely.
