Does Anyone?.....
Know of a website that show the average life of Mustangs?. Like the average amount of miles before something breaks, or someone decides to sell or tade it? Just curious to see how they stack up..
Right now, as it sits.. My 98 LX has 142,000mi, Engine still running well but Trans and Rear-End have seen better Days..
I've had the car since I was 14yrs old and Been driving it nearly every day since I was 15. Not a bad run so far for a first car, eh'?

yeah... it's called consumer reports. Mustangs check out with average reliability for most of the fox based years and models. At 142K on the clock, you're not doing bad at all. Seeing some major components needing freshening isn't surprising. My 03 has 55k and has destroyed 2 IRS rear ends, 3 trannies and the nerves of everyone that's been in the passenger seat.

I think what it all comes down to is maintenance. Hell my car is a 02 model, has over 100k miles now and the only that's jacked is some squeaky pullies and a few rattles other than that it's perfectly fine! Stock tranny, stock clutch, stock everything....

The avg mustang sells at 60,000-100,000 miles. To be honest with you, id just save up money and keep your stang till it breaks down. Because even if you put it up for sale, id doubt you would get no more then $2,000 for it. Then again that depends on the value of miles in your area. By that i mean, In some areas, 30,000 miles are like 100,000 miles, and in other areas people treat 100,000 miles as if the car is still brand new. Where I live you dont see many people with more then 50,000 miles on their cars. After 50,000 miles or 5 years many dealers such as CarMax sell them as "value car". Like i said, I only got like $6,000 when i sold my 2002 with 50,000 miles, so my best suggestion is your probably not going to get much for it so id just use the time since you dont have car payments to save up money and wait for your car to die out.
