Question hey there can somebody please help

hey ok heres my dilima i am looking for either a 98 GT or a 99 GT and i know as i am sure all of you do that the 99 has more stock power but i have heard that the 99 doesnt respond well to mods and that the 98 would actually have more power after mods than the 99 would? is this true? and if so what mods would you guys suggest for me?

No that is not true, and as far as what mods you should get, that depends on what you want out of your car.

they are the same engine except for the heads....the 99+ have power improved (PI) heads, cams and intake...u can do a swap for the 98 and yeild a lil bit better power but bolt ons will be about hte same

'99 is faster then '98 stock for stock

they are different bodystyles

buy whichever you like... you can modify any car and make any car quick

stick wth the 99 up, better performance due to the better flowing intake, heads and cams. 1998 is a Bastard of a year because of its fuel system & exhaust

98's have weird exhaust hangers and all kinds of little things that are different that make adapting parts from other years a PITA too... I'd stick with mid 01 and up so you get the 3650 tranny and the updated intake and all that jazz. If you want bigger power, then get a 99+ and slap a blower on it. Bolt on bits just aren't worth the money until there's a blower in place anyway.

unless you truely have an affinity for the bodystyle, its not worth it.
