My car will be gone soon...
Yeah ive made the decision that my car may be gone soon. Ive got to make way for something else...
MPH (Modular PowerHouse) is coming out with a 700rwhp packaged Mustang (800 motor) which is along the lines of Roush, Saleen, Steeda, but better. They are going to offer the various stages and obviously the 700hp model is the top model as far as I know. Packages will be starting at 36k and include..

Functional Shaker
Rear spoiler
Front splitter
Side Scoops
Window Scoops
Axle back
Lowering springs
Shifter
MPH shifter ****
MPH logo caps under hood
Hood struts
14" Brakes
Embroidered seats/floor mats
MPH dyno tune and X-cal 2

I guess the part that you need to love it is that Tim is putting those together, on top of thta your financing everything so its not like spending $25,000 financed on a car and then like $10,000 all up at once on parts. Plus on top of everything the warrenty. But even then, even if it is 700HP with $40,000 i rather buy a c6.

I was reading about that last week on their forums. Only thing their base stage 1 is n/a is where the $36k price starts. That being a stage 3 s/c I'm thinking that will be well over $60k....But, still worth every penny of it!

While I do think its cool, you are spending a premium amount of $$ for a car that does not carry a premium name in the automotive marketplace.
The resale will be that of a Mustang GT unlike a Saleen or Roush that have a name established that gives them the ability to hold collector value.

So, does MPH take a new car from Ford, and then transform it into one of their "stages."
Like someone said, MPH is not really an "established" company. Personally I would be very shocked if this happened.
I think it would be more along the lines of a package you would buy and have MPH install ir or you install it.
My understanding is they would be like Roush or Saleen and sell the whole car, basically an MPH dealership. I dont think so, that's yearssss in the making.
I think they could offer packages though and have a car transformed, starting with 05+ mustangs.

This will no doubt be a great car, but a very questionable investment. MPH does not yet carry the reputation or the collector values of a Shelby, Roush, Saleen etc....
But, I applaud their effort and wish them luck. These will certainly be insane cars and for the performance, prolly worth every penny. It is the resale that I would be a bit concerned with......then again, I could be 100% wrong.

However, as time goes on, if MPH ends up establishing a name like saleen or roush, then hell, one of thier origional cars might well be worth a LOT of money 10-20 years down the road if maintained and mileage kept low.

MPH has already established a name amung the entire online mustang community which is a large portion of the hobby. Most people who get work done, order online and anyone online who mods their cars knows of or heard of MPH. Tim Barth is THE GUY to goto with tuning and is one of the better known names amung others. It seems to me their work has already made a name for itself. I agree that most anyone on the street sees "modular powerhouse" will have no idea what it means and most of the people who heard of saleen or roush would simply say "aftermarket car accessory company" when asked so that doesnt put any of them high up on the pedestal either, yet they can ask 65k for a stage III supercharged car that simply puts down 400hp if its retuned.
Yeah id MUCH rather take an MPH car over roush, saleen, or a steeda. MPH has proven parts that has been tried through the customers themselves. They arent pushing THEIR brand on anyone, they are putting the best of the best togeather all into one peice, to make it as badass of a ride as possible and im quite sure they will have no problem suceeding.

Imo a MPH edition will never be like Roush or Saleen. Its more like the Cervinis car. Its not its own brand name. A Saleen or Roush has gone emission testing and has passed all CARB and other tests and is its own brand.
They also have 100% warranty coverage at any Saleen or any Ford dealer. The MPH cars other than the basic one will not carry any engine/trans warranty other than through MPH or the dealers they are working with. This basically precludes anyone except those around that location from buying them and getting warranty work unless they drive or trailer the car to Georgia.
Whereas there are Saleen and Roush dealers within an hour drive of most people and even joe blow Ford can take care of you too.
Hell even Steeda which makes cars do not carry the name recognition or resale/collector value of a Saleen and Steeda has been around longer than MPH.
Another point is that a Bank will loan the $$ to someone who wants to buy a Saleen with a sticker of 50K but I really doubt they would for a MPH when the vin says its a GT.

Sweet deal matt...I however have grown out of the "having a fast mustang phase"...I have not bought anything new for my car in the last 1.5 yrs or so and i don't intent to do so..I can't wait to finally finish paying it off so that i can get me a nice quiet DD or maybe even a luxury sedan!..
