Default quick gear question (yes I checked the sticky)

I went and checked on gear install prices today. The guy I know who does work on the side wasn't at his shop so I checked at the place that does all my other mechanic work. They quoted me 200 bucks for the instal and can get it done in 1/2 - 1 day, whicH I figured was about right but the guy said I need a new pinion bearing. I am rear end retarded, so which kit on here includes the pinion bearing. I am still gonna talk to the side guy to see if he'll do it cheaper. Car has 11,644 miles.

The 2nd kit.Don't really think you need it though.I've had 2 sets of gears in mine and the installer said all of my bearings were great.

im not sure since i never did my own install, but i think the bearings are pressed onto the pinion and im sure if the shop were to use the wrong tool they will jack up the bearing and it will need to be replaced. or maybe its just the shops policy.

wow, $200 for the install....that's a great price. You can't find a mechanic in a 75 mile radius of where I live that works for less $80-100 an hour...hints why I have never had gears installed.
