i have a 98 gt with a 410 gear and 125 shot the car is 5 speed and i need a good set of street tires to hook up on which are better nitto 555r or bfg dragradials my friend has nittos on his ws6 which runs 12 20s and he has no problem hooking up but its automatic

Well, if you want to get about 8000 miles per set, but want to hook like a madman, I hear that the BFG tires are where its at. The Nitto's, while a great hooking tire, dont hook as well, but get about 15k miles per set, if you baby it a lot. If it were me, I would just buy two extra draglites, and put some 15 in slicks on them for the track. My car is damn squirly enough in the rain to put dr's on it. Just my opinion though.

its harder to stay hooked up at launch with an auto because 3000 rpms goes straight to my wheels as soon as i hit the pedal. with a manual you can ease in the clutch.
i have 285 nittos on 18's and they spin a little but work really once heated up and on a warm track
