If that is the case and I lowered my car 1.5 inches with H&R sports and 17" rims then my cats would be 4 inches from the ground correct?

Is that how it works?
kinda, but you also have to take into consideration the tires you put on there. if the new tires you put on the 17's have a lower sidewall then you wont be gaining an inch in clearence.

yes they should have a top and bottom spring isolator.

Tanks
you would have to reallign every time you change springs. in order to change the springs you have to drop the front struts out of the cc plates. the cc plates are where you allign the car.. all those little bolts have to come out when you change the springs and when you put them back in they have to be re-adjusted.

Ok thank you.

Something really weird though... I remeasured my cats on flat ground (they are the lowest point under the car) and it has 5inches of clearance.

On another forum I posted that they had 5inches of clearance when I had my h&r super sports on.

I thought that since it was lowered 2 inches, the cats would get lowered as well.

That would mean that with the H&R ss they were 3 inches from the ground. Perhaps I mismeasured when I had the ss on, but its hard to beleive I mismeasured by 2 inches.

Do the Cats go down with the drop?

Thanks again

did you measure your car in the same place? and the car was on level ground both times? the cats should go up and down with the car. you must have measured wrong, im not sure..

I measure from in my garage both times, but I am guessing I just mismeasured. Do you know if 5" of clearance b/t the exhaust and ground is usual for an unlowered mustang?
