Default Can I put 2005/06 wheels on a 2000 mustang?? PLease help!

Hey Guys,

I want to get 2005 bullit wheels and tires for my 2000 mustang becasue it seems you can get them quite cheap. I've been reading around and people on ebay etc. often say they won't fit my car because the "offset" is too big. Others say it just needs a spacer.

I was really hoping somebody could help me settle this before I buy them.

Thanks a lot!

Neil

It wont work, period.

The offsets and backspacing are RADICALLY different. You are talking about a difference of a +22 (94-04) to a +45 (05/06) offset. That will move those rims WAY too far in, and will probably knock into your wheel wells. Not to mention that the tire diameters for the 05/06 are completely different than the 94-04's. Their sidewalls are higher and the overall size of the tire+rim is much larger. Your speedo will be FAR off with any 05/06 rims.

Stick with the rims that have the proper backspacing and offset for your car. Otherwise, you will run into mucho problems.

Heres your biggest reason why that wont work:

In addition to changing the load on the bearings changing the offset significantly will change the turning radius (of the tire) and may effect both steering response and steering stability.
Moving your offset closer by 20mm is probably going to cause the rims to knock into your car and not fit at all, or if they do fit, cause serious weight transfer issues, turning issues, and weight load on the axles.

the 95-2004 bullitt rims should be just as, if not cheaper than the 05/06 bullitts

Hey sorry I didn't post back in a while. I'd be wanting to get wheels with 4 tires and ones that had a lot of life left on them..I'm a student and am already stretched pretty thin. Any more info on that set?

Thanks!
