Default AODE Rebuild or just get a new one

When it comes to beefing up an auto tranny, AODE for my 2001 GT, what parts exactly do I need to build up? I could be eventually running 600RWHP. I know it would be simpler to just order a new one, which I've found for 1800 bux that can hold anything you throw at it. Is this the best option, just buy a knew one?

Also, If i'm at 375RWHP, would my stock auto tranny with the dyno tune hang in there ok? Should I beed, anything, up? It would have 50,000 miles on it

I think that with 375rwhp your stock tranny should still be ok. Throw a converter in that sucker. Once you break something, then go ahead and get a new trans.

Kinda dumb when it comes to tranny's. How does a converter help me out? I know that theres like 2800 and 3200 or something. Also would this help with burnouts? how the heck do u do a burn out with an auto??

The torque converter, connected to the transmission/transaxle input shaft, connects, multiplies and interrupts the flow of engine torque into the transmission. A 3000 stall should be just right for our cars. I plan on getting on in the next year I wouldnt bother with anything less. It will put manual cars in their place especially with consistancy.

But to beef up your tranny a bit shift kit or tune, tranny cooler, 3000 stall torque converter.

You dont know how to do a burnout!!!! Take traction control off hit the brakes not quite all the way down but enough to stop you and keep you in place with hitting the gas. Then slam on the gas and let it rip, caution do not do long a$$ burnouts, because your rear brakes will heat up as well. SO give them a chance to cool in between each burn out.

Torque Converter depends on what your looking for:
$600-$900
Tranny Cooler
$50-$80
Shift kit
$60-$100
Prices vary I didn't go to exact on the prices because itdepends on what your looking for and brand.

You can check classifieds on this forum or other reputable forums for good deals on fully built transmissions for much cheaper than $1800. If you want to go down that path.

my tranny is ok. my tires break loose at 40 mph when i punch it. i just need the money so i can be ready to buy a whole new one.

get a torque converter. ima get a 3200 so if you go this route get a locker this will lock your torque converter since you dont want to be cruising on the freeway at 3200 rpms. i may be wrong when it comes to the locker. im still trying to educate myself with those things as well.

personally i would just buy a new valve body instead of doing a shift kit yourself.

I'd say go with a 3200 lock up stall converter, Transgo shift kit, and a tranny cooler of your choice. The difference in power (torque) and acceleration will by like night and day. These tranny mods should cut your 1/4 times by ~.4-.5 . Do you have gears? If not get them right away! This is another bang for the buck mod that should cut your 1/4 times by ~ .3 . It all depends on how you will be making the 375rwhp. If n/a then do 3.90's or 4.10's, if with a power adder do 3.73's. Now none of these mods add any horsepower, but they do multiply torque significantly. Torque wins races and makes you go faster. With all this torque, you will definitely need some sticky tires to get the power to the ground. To do a burnout, turn the traction control off (should be off anyways anytime you're racing) put your left foot on the brake, and mash the gas with your right foot to the floor.

first off im supercharging next year with vortech. I want to be around 350 HP to the tires.

second, no, i do not have gears because i was waiting for the power adder, I'm goin to get 3.73s.
With all this tranny stuff, I think I'm just gonna do gears, torque converter and cooler all at the same time. How important is a shift kit? When i had mine dyno tuned he firmed up my gears and such. Isnt this basically what a shift kit is? would i still benefit from it?

thirdly, i was planning on get 265/35 tires in front and 295/35 rear, BFG KDW'2. It is a daily driver and I want good, well great traction in the rain. I'm terrified of hydro planing.
