Head light **** removal...???
I just ordered my simco's and was looking at install instructions. The hardest part seems to be removing the headlight ****. Do you guys know a way to easily remove the ****?

I used a small flat head screwdriver. That little **** can be a pain in the ***...wait till you try to put it back on LOL...you'll see it can be a pain in the ***. Also be verycareful when taking apart the cluster and putting the circuit board on the new one.

the headlight **** is a pain!!!! i ended up ordering a steeda aluminum one instead of jacking with putting the original back on......the steeda uses a recessed allen screw which makes life a lot nicer if you ever have to take it off again...

I'm having the same problem removing the switch ****. In the chilltons manual and the ARRC website tell of the Ford recomended way of removing the switch **** and shaft. It states...
Just below the headlight switch **** is a small access trim panel(I'm guessing this is where I have a rear defogger button?). Remove this panel to access the switch **** shaft release button.
Pull the headlight switch to the HEAD position, then, reaching through the instrument panel opening, depress the headlight switch **** shaft release button and withdraw the **** and shaft from the headlight switch.
I cannot seem to locate this "button". Does anyone know anything about the position of this button and how to use it?

It is a PITA and that's why i have the billet one now and it too uses an allen to screw in on. Just try to use a jewlers screw driver or something like that is small and work on it. if putting it back on, the shaft is 3 sided like a triangle shape, so key it on right or you'll be pushing on it like a **** and it won't go on.

If you pull it out like you were to turn on your light and turn it until you see a little metal clip then you can use a really tiny screwdriver to pull the clip up and it slides right off. I have done this multiple times with ease.

The slot is right were the clip is. Just pout the screwdriver down at the back of the slot and kind of pull forward and you will hit the clip. YOu will want to try and get up under the clip and just raise it a bit and pull the **** at the same time. It should slip right off.
