take a regular bar of soap and work it into the hole, sounds dumb but it worked on a old car I had for real quick fix

alright, ill give that a try...at least so i wont leak gas all over the street, which is a bad thing having stoner neighbors. any idea how a pin point hole can occur? i mean, there are no like scratch marks or anything to indicate that i hit anything.

The cause that comes to mind is rust.A buddy of mine had a small leak in his gas tank and brought it over for me to fix.I fixed that leak but the heating and general handling of the tank caused about 1,000,000 new small leaks. It turned out the tank had rusted from the inside out and had to be replaced.Get a gas tank repair kit from Autozone,Napa,or Advance and be very gentle when cleaning the tank for the repair.JB weld will also work for a while.Nothing will be permanent though.Start looking for a replacement or maybe you can get a radiator shop to repair the old one. Most radiator shops won't fix gas tanks because of the danger of explosion.
