Default New gears / tuner settings question

Just off the phone to Hauser Racing (I`m in Scotland). Basically I`ve given my card details and have ordered FRPP 4.10s. They`ll be fitting the gears and bearing kit BUT I have to alter the settings for the new gears and speedo with my tuner. I have a Diablosport Predator. There is settings for this kinda thing and what I`m needing to know is has anyone done exactly this and is it a big deal? I`m assuming the box shift points needs to be altered ? no?
Last thing I need is a fucked auto box so I need to get this right.
Any pointers appreciated guys. Its a 2003 GT.

It's pretty simple with the Predator tuner. If you already have a tune loaded, then just plug the tuner in and get to where you can change the pinion ratio to 4:10 (or 4:11 if that's what it comes up as). Make sure you have the correct rear wheel height calculated and put in. You don't have to change the shift points, unless you want to. The car stops making power eventually, so it doesn't need to go all the way to redline. You can also increase the shift firmness, but really what your doing is increasing the line pressure. This can eventually lead to premature trans wear.

Good man. Thats the kinda stuff I needed to hear. Its hard going at times trawling through posts/threads on other car forums as theres some ****** dung to plough through before you actually hit facts.
I was assuming that when I modify parameters when I choose the 4.10 (4.11) options the gearbox shift settings and speedo will automatically be corrected for my gears?
Thats good to know as I`m useless bastard and don`t fancy ******* my gearbox up.

thanks again

You're gonna love them gears. While you're in the tuner, turn off the Traction Control so you can play with the new gears.

Let us know what you think.

Oh yeah, no street racing anymore, that lady got her **** straight and is looking for a rematch
