Default My '95 GT is SHAKING like an EARTHQUAKE, help!

My 1995 GT is shaking so uncontrollably I can not even drive it now. I just replaced the plugs, wires distributor cap and rotors. It drove perfect for a day then the shaking began again. The check engine light is not on so I can't check for any codes. Any suggestions? Please help. Thank you!!

Did you have any of these issues prior to your tuneup with the plugs/wires and so on...

Is it the same kind of shake as before the tune up and what kind of parts did you use (cheap stuff or brand name)?

Same exact kind of shaking. I used all high-end parts.

I assume by shaking, we're talking about a miss fire... correct? Did the plugs you pulled out look bad as far as deposits or any kind of damage and what did the cap and and wires look like?

Its not uncommon to get new parts that are bad. I would go back and recheck everything. Pull all the plugs again and look at the tips and recheck the gap to see if maybe one or more are misfiring. Check the wires and make sure none have any burned spots from the exhaust.

How many miles are on the car?

The car has 148k on it. When I say shaking I mean the whole entire car shakes, vibrating like crazy! I can hardly hold on to the steering wheel or the shift **** it is so bad. It starts as soon as i turn the key, in neutral, and all gears, especially when down-shifting. The new plugs are pristine. Having the tune-up done did not change anything. I do know that the compression of 2 of the 8 cyl. are low, about 87, compared to the others at 135. My next step is to check the motor mounts.

I thought you said in your first post that it ran fine for a day. Yes check both motor mounts and the trans mount. That low compression on those two cyl. will give the motor a little more "shake" but it should not be that extreme. Does the engine idle smooth or does it jump around? Any signs of a major vaccum leak or blown head gasket, or overheating issures?

Yeah, the car was shaking so I stopped driving it, did the tune-up. I drove it the next day and it ran great. The next day it was a little rough, and the third day it was back to the full shaking again. The engine does idle smooth and has no overheating problems. I'll have the mounts checked, as well as the head gasket and look for vacuum leaks. Thanks.
