Default Clutch shaking

I recently had a SPEC stage 1 clutch kit professionaly installed in my 99 gt, and when i let out on the clutch and the car begins to engage it violently shakes and thumping sounds come out of the transmission/clutch area. I think the clutch disc is moving around or something. Anyone tell me where the install went wrong or what could be causing this? appreciate it

The stage one shouldnt have harsh engagement....I would take it back to where it was installed.

A SPEC clutch just going bad like that and new, i would say mechanic error for sure. I think they put the clutch disk with the alignment tool, put the other peice on and when bolting it up, it didn't hold the disc right and they probably called it good or didn't pay attention to it. And BAM, disk flying around now. I would take it back and tell them they did it and to fix it and pay for anything :censored: up.

I had the same issues with my stage 1 Spec clutch when I had it...
And it was not the mechanics fault..

After the mechanic installed it...It would chatter like a mother ******. The next day I brought it back saying that its chattering way to much and its unbarable, and that I thought that it was installed wrong... The mechanic told me that it was normal and that the chatter would go away after the break in period as advertised.. (500 miles)

welp...500 miles later it still chattered like a mother ****** and I said, "screw this clutch mayun! imma switch diz bitch out for a centerforce Dual friction "(highly recommended to me buy other local stang dudez)...so I had the centerforce installed by the same mechanic....and guess what? it didnt chatter..and it holds like advertised!

So in short......I would suggest just getting a diff clutch Tnsweet. Dont bother with SPEC anymore.

Centerforce Dual Friction is great...and I have heard good things about Mcleod Clutches.

SPEC clutches are awesome, they just have an inspection problem with letting clutches get by with problems. Call em up and theyll send you a new one ASAP.
