Default Help Choosing A Transmission

So my transmission is having some problems grinding and not getting into gear and the clutch is on its last leg and slipping. I have already bought a new clutch flywheel and short-throw shifter, already have spent $750 on these parts and didn't really know I should have upgraded to maybe a t-56. I'm looking for a transmission that can stand up to the track strip and street course and not have any worries about it breaking. I have tried looking at transmissions online and have had trouble finding any heavy duty rebuilt transmissions, one I have found is this, but I don't know much about them: http://www.nitrostangracing.com/PMT45.html . I was looking at the 750hp rated custon built t-45 that is $1590 exchanged with mine. In the future I want a KB 2.1 street setup puting around 400hp but not untill the engine gets forged, I have also seriously considered a Termi' engine and tranny swap, but I don't have the funds for this right now. Do you think this looks like a good product and company? Should I stick with the T-45 built transmission or get a different one, the only thing is that I have the clutch, flywheel, and shifter invested in it.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Shawn

I have though about it some more and will consider getting a t-56. New or rebuilt, I don't know.

Do not just get a regular t-56 you'll hate it. As a Termi owner with a t-56 I hate this ******* thing so much.

If anything save your money and get the Magnum T-56. That's the only way to go. If you don't believe me, go on SVTP for five minutes. Full of complaints about the shitty T-56.

So you guys are telling me that a t-45 is better than a t-56? Can anyone point me in the direction of a reputable upgraded transmission dealer online.

http://www.ddperformance.com/

The only place I'd buy a trans from online.

We've had two from them so far and when they got to us they look like they were fresh off of the assembly line. And both were factory rebuilds.

no we're saying the stock t56 isn't too big an upgrade. If you're going to spend 2-3 grand then get something more than just a stock t56.

Alright r3d, thanks. I am going to get another job and start saving for the t-56 Magnum, do you know what modifications are needed to swap this out besides the shortened driveshaft?

tranny crossmember (mount), clutch disc, pressure plate, TOB.

Plan on going from a 10 spline clutch to a 26 spline clutch.

TPSmotorsports.com

Call them and ask for their custom kevlar disc clutch setup.
