Default Tranny

I have a 2002 mustang gt 5speed that i just replaced the tranny but second gear wont stay in gear it just pops out, there is no grinding or anything and even with the clutch engaged it still pops out, what could be the causes and thanks for the help.

Was it a used trans. and what kind of shifter do you have? You should have a 3650 Tremec.

ya its a tremc and it was rebuilt

Call whoever you got it from and tell them about the problem. They should give you another one. Good Luck.

Make sure the little plastic bushing is on the shifter ball. If it's not you'll never get it all the way into gear.

Moving, this has nothing to do with mod motor tech........

Sounds like the classic TR3650 tranny that didn't have the TSB done to it when it was rebuilt. Ford came out with a kit that goes with the rebuild to take care of this issue. Your tranny builder is a moron and didn't know about this.
