Default Exhaust Help Please..

OK, so I have finally decided that the Aero Chambers have GOT TO GO!

Anyway.. I need some help deciding what I'm going to do now. I think that since I'm going to change the setup that I'd like to go ahead and do LT's + catted mid-pipe + new Cat-back. So, give me some recommendations, videos or sound clips preferred.

Are the new Pypes LT's any good, or is BBK pretty much still the way to go?

BTW, I'm looking for a loud setup, not "i want to kill myself" loud, but decently loud. Also looking for something that is decently loud at low speed/RPM, that is probably the biggest complaint that I have about the Aero Chambers, they reach peak volume at 2,500 RPM, anything before or after that is teh sux!

HELP!!!

Dustin's car sounds ******* awesome with dumps, but he doesn't have longtubes. Anthony's (03_GT) car sounded *****-***. I know he had longtubes, but I don't know what kind. Maybe he will chime in. Two of the best sounding 2V Mustang GT's I've ever heard.

My advice is to go on YouTube. Of course the videos won't do the actual in-person sound justice, but you can at least get an idea.

I'd say LTs an dump set-up. That would sound AMAZING IMO.

Heard an 01 (i think) Saleen with BBK LTs and a custom dump that made me shiver.

Why do the Aero Chambers have to go? How much do you want to send? Stainless would be the way to go if you can afford it. SLP Loud Mouths are loud but sound like ****, imo. I want somebody to do the Warlock setup to see what that sounds like. Wanna be the Poster Child for that setup?

I have the BBK Ceramic long tubes w/off road H and 40 series Flowmasters. Good luck and keep us informed !

they sound great, I think they are just too quiet for him. best sounding muffler for the 4.6 on earth IMO. but they arent as loud (annoying) as other mufflers.

I would agree with that if they sounded @ 5k RPM like they do @ 2500 RPM.

They have basically no extra sound after 2500-3k RPM, if anything they actually get more quiet which is wierd and annoying to be driving down the road and the car basically is as quiet as a V6.

Hooker Aero Chambers are mostly used on GM's, Camaro's/Firebirds, etc.. They have never really been a very popular muffler for Fords, and now I understand why.

I'll have to check into Mac's, I have really been considering something like Super 44 or American Thunder Flows, but I may end up going all out with Borla or something like that. Magnaflows are definitely out, can't stand them, they're way too droney and annoying. I don't want to skimp and have to "live" with something that I really don't like.

Probably just the simple fact that there is less piping and bends for the air to travel through.. That's all I can figure.

Please don't be a poser. Only posers run tips almost twice the size of the actual exhaust pipe diameter. At most stick w/ a 3" tip.

As for what set-up, I personally think BBK is junk. Their method of getting around the steering shaft shows a lack of engineering. If I had to do it all over again, I would go w/ Kooks. Other brands I'd consider are SLP, Stainless Works or Mac (based on reviews). Whatever you end up getting, make sure you have a ball-socket collector. If not, buy the Flowmaster one and have your exhaust shop install it. Also, if the brand you get doesn't have a catted mid-pipe, installing cats isn't too bad and that option let's you choose a good cat (like Magnaflows).

Speaking of Flowmaster, you may actually like Flowmaster since though it does drone at 2k, it's more consistently loud. In fact, the super 44s/super 40's may be you're best options.
