Default My mustang is locked down!

Hey everybody I have a 98 mustang gt that about two days ago i had a clutch installed on it. After the clutch was installed the mechanic (local) drove it up to the front of the neighborhood where it completely shut off on him. Now the engine will crank but not start and also the theft light is blinking rapidly when turned to start. We searched for the problem for hours and found that the yellow 20 fuel pump fuse would blow when the key is turned to iginition. I checked the fuel pump switch in the back and it pressed down. Seems like the car thinks it is stolen so when the key is turned, it turns it own fuel supply off. Im trying to stay away from taking it to shop for money reasons. DOES andybody have ne advice or tips ?

Do you have another key you can try to use to start the car? Sounds like another memeber we have here who is also having a problem with the car cutting power from the PATS system. Which is Fords anti theft system.

I had a similar problem on my 03 where my car wouldn't start and when I turned the key the theft light flashed rapidly. Turns out the electronic chip in my key was bad. Switched keys, never had the problem again...

if its not the key its the module in your actual pats system, if you have a fax number i could even fax you the papers that ford used to show where that module is and replaced it, you take it to them they'll charge 200 for it
