Seat swap

Seat swap
My car has a power driver's seat and it's had an awful squeak ever since I bought it. I've been thinking about replacing it with a used OEM seat from a junkyard.
If I find a seat that wasn't a power seat to begin with, is it possible to just swap the power stuff onto the new seat that I get? I'm not sure how these seats are built and I'm wondering if someone else here knows or has possibly done this before.

All the power equipment for movement is in the seat track. Except the switch itself, of course. Just unbolt it from your seat and bolt it onto another seat. If you have the power lumbar seats then you would probably lose that, unless you want to dissect the seats and play organ donor.

alright, cool. this is what i was thinking. i've seen power seat tracks for sale on craigslist with decriptions similar to "pop this in your car for a power seat conversion!".
my seat has a horrible squeak from the back being loose somewhere. i've found used seats online at junkyards in "Excellent" condition for 45-100$. might take a gamble and try one.
thanks.
