Default X-Pipe

I was wondering if I should go to a exhaust stop and just get a x-pipe made or if I should go with something off american muscle like this

Just buy one they are cheap and can be found used all over, and exhaust shops generally do a shitty job unless you shell out a lot of cash.

i actually heard that the x pipe gave you a better sound and more power would come from a x pipe

Sound is subjective. As for power, 2-3 hp at the upper limits won't even be noticeable, even at the strip. Maybe .005 sec gain or .5 mph gain.

Why not x-pipe? I love mine and think it sounds great. Never had anyone say my car sounds bad.

It's not really gonna matter what x-pipe you. Just get one thats going to fit and you should be good to go. The sound clip in my sig should give you an idea of the sound. I have long tubes, o/r x-pipe and flowmaster mufflers.

They don't make a total exhaust for a reason. The stock exhaust is marvelous on the S197s, in which a muffler switch and cross-over switch are only done for sound reasons, not performance.

i guess its all personal opinion. i love my h-pipe and get compliments everywhere i go. i sometimes feel like the x-pipe gives a little "raspier" sounds like a little feedback. not saying mine is perfect. seems like 99-04'ers get Xs and most people I know with 94-98s have H-s. maybe its a gen thing? haha

I think it's more w/ part availability. For 79-95, you have a choice while 96+ has more x-pipes available than H.
