Anyone Recommend......
Any particular clutch quadrant? I've looked at the MM version, but it has no adjustability plus the fact that you HAVE to buy the "firewall adjuster" separately..

I like the look of the UPR triple hook quadrent, good adjustability without having the firewall adjuster

I don't particularly have anything against the firewall adjuster, but when I had one on my V6, I just really couldn't feel any difference when I would adjust it.. Just seemed kind of like a pointless accessory.

The reason why you felt no difference was that the quadrant was probably stock, and the stock one is self-adjusting. The hooks though on the non-MM ones are pointless. If the adjuster doesn't take up the slack in the cable, you have issues, other than needing a multi-hook quadrant (or if you used an ill-fitting aftermarket adjustable cable). Remember, those other quadrants still need a way to adjust the cable (whether it's an adjustable cable or firewall adjuster).
Stick w/ the MM piece w/ the stock cable and the firewall adjuster.

I bought this a kit that came with the steeda firewall adjuster and quadrant and the MM clutch pedal adjuster and it really improved the shifts. I would have rather had all MM parts but whatever, this worked out for me.

I have the Steeda setup minus their shitty cable (stock cable FTW) and its nice, but if I had to do it again I would of gotten the quick release one instead of my double hook setup. Regardless its nice once you get it dialed in to what setting you like. Install is not bad either with a quadrant and firewall adjuster.

Thats the exact setup I have right now. Why the hell did you have that clutch on a v6.

The SPEC II was really just an uninformed decision, it was a great clutch, but pretty harsh for everyday use. It was also on sale for a really good price back when I got it.

That's strange but the clutch probably had something to do w/ it since that's a bit grippy for a six-banger.
Also, I'd stay away from the quick release one since your left leg will probably curse you out and you probably will need to find a way to shorten the travel. Otherwise, you will overstroke the pressure plate.

So, basically I've got a rec. on the MM & Steeda kit.. Anyone else?
BTW: IDK if you know or not, but the Mustang isn't my DD.

Whichever one you decide to get, get the firewall adjuster as well. Since the stock quadrate is self adjusting and the aftermarket ones are not, if your clutch cable stretches or your clutch wears down your pedal will get sloppy. You will then be able to adjust it with the firewall adjuster. Plus you will already have everything apart so it will be a perfect time to install it.

Well, I ordered the Steeda "Quick Release" quadrant and the firewall adjuster. Hopefully I'll get it by Friday and have some time to install it this weekend. Probably will get the pedal stop at some point as well as a new cable, but that will have to wait for a week or two.

BTW: The car has a King Cobra clutch in it.. lol So it's already fairly heavy.

Measure the amount of travel in the cable. Since the only geometric change is the quadrant, only the pedal travel is affected but the cable travel should remain the same. You don't want the cable to travel too much further (if at all more) than stock otherwise you over stroke the PP. Also, you combining stiff w/ stiffer. You are going to make the Govenator jealous of your left calf.

Does anyone know if the quick release kit needs the nylon/billett spacers, or if it comes with them? I know that the double hook version comes with them. I called Steeda and AM today and got shaky answers from both places. Anyone?
This is what I'm talking about..

Unless they made the attachment point thicker, you will need a spacer. However, though the MM way is cheap, you can just do what they do and use washers. The benefit of that way is the ability to adjust the quadrant's side-to-side position.

Hmm, ok, well I guess I'll just wait and see if it comes with it. The steeda website specifically says that the kit comes with the double hook setup, but says nothing about the quick release. I called Steeda and asked if it needs it, and the guy said no, but he didn't sound real sure of himself.
I guess if it comes down to it I can just go to the hardware store and pick up some washers.
