Default Air bags?

Well I am kinda confused here fellas. As many know I wrecked my car my air bags came out. The bags and modules and all that stuff was going to cost me anywhere from 1k to 3k and its 2 bags so pretty much 2k to 6k. Plus I paid 2k for repairs out of pocket anywho, I was wondering is not having air bags really that big of a deal? I use mine as a DD and its 2000 and insurance was only liability so everything here is out of my pocket. Replacing bags would cost probably more than buyin another used stang but I put too much time/money into this one to just let it go. So is the bags missing such a big deal or no? Is there a way I can just maybe buy the bags from another stang that haven't been deployed and install them in mine or would I need the sensors and modules and all that shiznit. IF I do install bags from another stang would they deploy in another accident or would it jst be worthless to install bags from another stang? any opinions/ input? Just worrying some about not having bags in my car but I wonder what about all those cars running around with salvage titles....

I've seen people selling air bags for around $350. Just search the classifieds on multiple forums. A lot of people part out the interiors of wrecked cars. Just have to find one where the bags didn't deploy may take time.

I was told to go to a Junky Yard, but everytime I do they want me to buy the whole car. LoL not worth my time and holy **** they're expensive, at least my title is good.

I didnt bother putting mine back in. I just bought the deletes. It should be less than $150 for both.

I would just get used ones from a junkyard or online from guys stripping there cars down to track monsters. Or you can do the deletes too. Its up to you whither you want that safety feature still working or not is what it really comes down to.

That's a crappy junk yard then. There's a reason why they call them also pick-n-pulls...

My car came without them and I haven't even bothered to do anything with them. If I wasn't going to sell the car, I was just going to get Five Point Harness or something close. I will with my new Mustang, when I get it. I'm also changing the Steering Wheel.

What are "deletes"? I know that's a stupid question, but I'm just making sure I know what it is.

Yeah it's called You-Pull-It I believe and they wont let me take anything off any Mustang. Everyone else was taking parts off any and every other single car. but of course not a Mustang, I don't think the guy liked me or he was jealous of my Mustang. :/

I thought bout it long n hard n life my g/f said you never know when you will really need them especially in a gt lol. I found some locally for 100 bucks both bags n the module that goes under the dash. I think he is also throwing in the crash sensors. MY ? is would this be a simple disconnect battery wait a while pull out old parts replace with the new ones and bingo and everything will be perfectly fine or will i need other things? How hard is it to replace them myself. I don't want to try to change em and BOOM they blow in my face

had the problem in my 96 v6, i just found a set of bags on ebay, took off my sensors and stuck the bags back in place, consider yourself lucky if you dont have to pound on the mounting bracket on the passenger side to get it to sit where its supposed to. i was afraid it would blow if i hooked up the module so i just didnt hook them up. i just ignore the airbag light.

Sorry, but I have to say it (even though this is an old thread..) Not covering your car is a STUPID idea. The only time I wouldn't pay for the insurance to cover my car would be if it were worth under a grand.

Well all i had to do on mine was replace the airbad control module and both of the air bags. I let the car sit about 30 min b4 touching anything once everything was in place and wired up reconnected battery and airbags are in and no air bag light everything worked like a charm.
