ok well i guess i should ask this before i get too far along with the dumps. how loud are these compared to a full cat back? most of my driving is in and around town, spending most of the time in the 1100-1700 rpm range, with some highway driving every once in a while. it takes like 25 minutes to get to school, so i'm in the car for a good bit of time sometimes. would the dumps be unbearably loud?

Depends on the muffler choice, but its going to be louder in the car with dumps if they are dumped around the back seat area (like most are setup). But I like it and I daily drive my car with off road H-pipe and dumped Mac's. You can run the pipes over the rear axle and dump them before the bumper. A lot like the old 5.0 GT's were setup.

Also pipe size is not going to effect the sound much.

alright...i posted the same thing on 3.8mustang and there were a bunch of people that said it was pretty loud inside the car...but i guess if i dumped them around the axle and angled them out like you said it wouldnt be a nuisance? lol i just cant make up my mind, now i think i may just go with like a gt takeoff catback and swap in the mac mufflers

Even with a catback, the v6 at idle is still going to be pretty quite.

Im not saying it's always quite lol, just at idle. It sounds a lot louder while cruising and of course at wide open throttle, but not unbearably loud at all like your worried about, still pretty quite at low rpm's though.

It sounds like crap. We started up Teal Beasts v6 when it was procharged with just the long tubes and H-pipe and it was horrible.
