Default Cost to get a/c system refilled?

Long story short the girlfriends focus had a line get cut and lost all its freon. So i replaced the line now it needs to be vacuumed and refilled. Anyone have an idea how much that runs? Not getting it done yet as its cold out, but I do want to get it done soon so its working come hotter weather.

I remember when I got mine recharged a while ago it wasn't too bad on the wallet. I can't imagine it costing more than an oil change, especially since you won't be charged for disposal since you are only being filled.

I replaced my ac compressor myself a few months ago and I checked around with several local sevice shops. The best I found was at a GateWay Tire. They were going to charge me 75 bucks for a vacume and recharge. What I ended up doing (cause I was trying to watch every penny spent) I had then vacume it down for me and I just got a recharge kit and some PAG oil from Auto Zone.

Now that someone brought it up, Walmart does sell recharging kits if you want to do it yourself.

Needs vacuum pulled on it so the walmart is out. 89.99 should be the going price.

have a shop evac it for 20 or 30 bucks (jiffy lube or firestone or anyone who works on a/c) then get the freon from autozone or walmart and recharge it yourself. that is the cheapest way. i changed my compressor this summer and recharged my system myself and it never gave me any problems even though i did not have it evacuated. but ive been told any time air is exposed into the system it must have a evac done. i guess i will find out in a few months if i made a mistake or not. cold weather only last about three months here in texas.

Thats what I was thinking get a shop to vacuum it and then I can fill it no problem and the oil for it also.
