F-150 Fuel Filter

F-150 Fuel Filter
Not mustang related but still a ford. I was trying to change my fuel filter today and no matter what I did I couldn't get it off. We had the kind of tool that you put on the line and push away from the filter and it snaps open the clips in the line. We could not get it to unsnap the locks. This is on a 1995 F-150, I am assuming the filter is connected the same way on the mustangs so does anyone know any tricks?
Also i saw a yellow ZR1 covette on the road today, fricken amazing!

thats good. taking it in to ford well is a bad idea imo. try like jiffy lube or midas, one of those shops, even a gas station might be able to help you. good luck

Yours may work like my dad's 08 F150. I tried using the tools but realized that the small red buttons on the clips, if pushed, will let you disconnect the hose w/o tools. If not, then make sure the tool you're using is the correct size. If it's just slightly off, it won't work.

We are using that style tool bassman, there was one that was completely different that we saw so we you talking about that one? And it was for sure the right size because we bought both sized tools (two different size ends each) and tried all the other ones when the one that was supposed to be used didn't work.
When you say "a considerable amount" what do you mean stanger00? Cause I fell like to get much more force on it I would need to be standing up or something.
Thanks for the replys guys!

my car was on a lift each time i did so i had a little bit more leverage since i was able to stand up...its been awhile since i did a fuel filter change but the last time the damn locks didnt want to unsnap for me. i had to fight with it for about 10 minutes or so my arms were pretty tired after words. i also used different tools each time i changed out the filter and none of them looked like the one in the picture. i used universal kits had different sized rings to go on the tool to fit around the fuel line.
