Default Locking Gas Cap for a '64-1/2 Mustang

Hey everyone,

I have a '64-1/2 Mustang and have been wanting to get a locking gas cap (preferably, without a cable) for it. My original gas cap has a cable attached (which I don't like, because it hangs against the car at the gas station).

Options that I've found, so far:

1) http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/pr...3&cat=0&page=1

2) http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/pr...1&cat=0&page=1

Has anyone used either of these before? Or what would you recommend? Thanks!

You need to checkout a forum like fordmuscle.com this is geared toward people with 79+ mustangs.

Well, because this forum has a description that says, "tech related topics that relate to all/most Mustang platforms," I thought it would be an appropriate place to ask. I'll check out fordmuscle.com, though.

It is I'm just saying its geared toward 79+ mustangs we don't have any regular members with 78 and older models sadly.

My dad tried the first setup kit, and he hated it. That other gas cap looks weird too...it doesn't look like it should be on a '64 1/2

Yeah, I agree. The stock gas cap looks better than that other one I found, but I haven't seen a locking version of the stock one.

Do you know why he hated the locking kit? I've been wondering if people have had problems with it.

The locking kit I saw is supposed to work with the stock cap, but I've been wondering if anyone has had problems with it.
