Default Howmany Miles until no good anymore?

howmany miles on a car can you put on it until it's not good anymore? starts taking a sh*t on you? needs to be replaced(engine, tranny, etc)?

the reason im asking is cause would it be worth it to put a FI on my stang that has 83,XXX Miles on it?

i think around 130-150k miles then you will see some stuff starting to need to be fixed.

Whenever it happens it happens. Could be 150k could be at 90k alot of these depends on how the car is taken care of. Mine i beat the **** out of it spray the **** out of it drag race the **** out of it and I don't think It will have a problem going over 100k. Why? because I take care of my **** i change all fluids when your supposed to, do the maintenance and take care of her so I'm not worried. Only thing i see going bad early is if it tosses a rod out the side when I spray the 150shot on it all the time. But im not to worried about that, comes with the territory.

Exactly, it's all in how you take care of it. Change the fluids, don't abuse it, just take care of it in general, and it should be in better shape than a car that was not maintained as well. Just like pain, wash/wax it, keep it in the garage, and it will last longer than a car that was kept out in the sun dirty. But no matter how well you take care of it some things will just just break and need to be replaced. Things like bushing, dampers, etc. wear-out and need to be replaced eventually.

I usually flush out everything once a year. Coolant, tranny fluid, new fuel filter. etc.

Change the oil whenever it needs to be changed.

Cool

I have over 150K miles on mine, and it's starting to need some heavy maintenance. I bought it used at over 140K, so I don't know how it was taken care of before me. But I'm replacing those bushings and shocks and things mentioned above, and the back electric window gear, and it will be fine. replaced the starter right after I bought it. Besides you learn a lot about it when you have to delve into it! And I'm diggin' the coming summer in my Vert!! LOL

Ive got 22,7xx on mine and still running strong. I need to look at my owners manual and figure when when to change all the fluids, since mileage really doesn't apply to me.

really every motor is different. i have heard about some breakin at 200k...some at 100k...and some even sooner. hell my friends 98 cobra just spun a bearing at just under 50k. anything can happen.

i would put forced on it. lol but i would want to keep extra cash around to replace the shortblock if needed

I'm at 197,000....

I've replaced the clutch twice (the second one was last Monday), had the rear rebuilt (to get 3.73s) and replaced the alternator...other than that, just wear stuff

i'm a little over 90k. no seal leakage, no oil spills, engine, tranny & rearend tight as new. shift **** has a small dent in the top. how? never drag raced, don't dog it, don't dump the clutch, mobil 1 synthetic, tlc.
don't get me wrong, i go fast, but i don't have to prove anything, so i don't race traffic lights.
