does it depend on what state you live in whether or not its illegal to have non-catted mid-pipes... im not aware of the laws concerning this...

It's illegal in every state. Messing with the Cats is a federal law, however, a lot of states don't have inspections, so it's a matter of not getting caught.

yep exactly its 100% illegal in every state. Only way of getting around it is how strict your states inspections are

Ditto Nofire and Dave04Stang. If you want to know just how illegal it is, just take your car to a local muffler shop and ask them to remove your cats...in any state. Reminds me of the days I used to live in NC and each year I'd put on my cats, get the car inspected (they always looked), and then go straight home and take them back off again.

well i guess ill get it w/o the cats for now untill the state start having inspections... cuz as of right now we dont...

you could still get a ticket for it. but the chances of that are pretty slim. an ******* cop could nail you for it.
