Default Stupid CAI question

hey all,
Im in the middle of installing my CAI and on the pipe that attaches to the throttle body theres a little hole in the pipe with a rubber grommet there. I have no idea what the hell this is for. on some pics it looks like theres a harness connected to it and others look like its been blocked off with a bolt. I can't find a harness to plug into the hole. All I know is its driving me crazy... Any thoughts?

most likely it is one of the vacuum hoses just like what you had to take off of the stock intake (which you need to reuse). The extra tube is just an extension since the stock hose does not reach. You didn't tell us what kind of intake you bought so thats a minor problem. On my K&N it came with a nozzle that plugged into that hole your talking about then I attached the hose they gave you to that and connected that to the stock hose/nozzle which was disconnected from the stock intake.

that's for the intake air temp sensor for 96-01 cars. 02-04 cars had the IAT moved to the MAF sensor. If your MAF has 6 wires coming out of it, then just remove the grommet and use 2-4 layers of aluminum tape (kind of like thick foil with a sticky side... you can find at Lowes etc... near the ventilation ducting or in the tape section. Later on you can put a dry nitrous nozzle in that IAT hole if you want.
