Default 2 Problems please help

ok i have a 2000 GT aod tranny...well everytime that i put the car in reverse, and then into drive to drive off the car seems to buck real hard. i figured out that i can stop this by not pushing the gas right away, i have to give it a couple of seconds, but every once in awhile it still does it.......does anyone know what to do...
2nd problem. i have a 91 Lx 5.0. everytime that i disconnect the battery, it seems like the car comes outta timing....even if i retime the dam thing it still retards itself..like the computer is overriding or something....
it misses on take off and while driving at 45 or so.....
it does it for about 3 months after the disconnect and then after the 3 months it goes away all of a sudden as if nothing was wrong...and runs great from then on.....any info will be helpful...thanks.....

Your first problem is normal. Automatic trannies take a couple seconds before engaging. You should wait till it engages before attempting to accelerate.

More description on your second problem would be more helpful.

Default <<problem>>

well i have a friend that has the same car and year, and his car doesn't do that at all...i have driven that car many times....but yeah, i think i am just going to have to be patient when i switch from reverse to drive....
but the second problem is the 91 5.0 and i don't know what all you need to know, but it misses, has that lean backfire outta the intake. from stop to finish it misses. and it's only when you disconnect the battery. i guess something resets or something and it starts missin real bad. and then in a couple of months it stops completely. it doesn't miss anymore and it runs fine until you have to disconnect that battery again.....and then it starts all over again.
now the missin is just like a lean backfire. i have checked the plugs and cap and rotor new dist. every sensor is new and tested...cause when i run the scanner on it, it said that everyone of my sensors was out. so i replaced them and it still does the same thing. i am leanin towards the fact thta maybe the ecu is bad or something...so if anyone knows more bout this let me know..or if ya'll need to know anything more let me know..........

I've never seen a car that doesn't buck when your in reverse and then put it into drive and step on the gas right away... the car has to have a second to shift. Thats gotta be somewhat bad for your transmission also to be doing that

Exclamation >>buckin<<

i doesn't always just do it when i step on the gas...i can switch from reverse to drive, or vise versa and even if i am on the brake pedal it will do it....and it's not just a lil buck, it's moves about two to three feet.....like it lunges forward........
but yeah, i sometimes forget to just give it a second, and it doesn't do it, and at times it does.....it's just really weird that my friend has the exact same car and he can brake or gas it right away and not have any problems with it....
and i don't step on the gas, i ease into it, and it's like it looses pressure for a sec and the rpm's jump up to like 4 or 5 in a split second!

Exclamation >>??<<

what would u joints have to do with it... but an any case, new u joints and seals down below. this isnt' a mechanical problem, it's either a electical or pressure problem i think. cause the lunge is just too sudden and like i said, the rpm's go from idle to almost zero and then jump to like 5k and that's when it lunges...............and like i stated before it's not just me hitting the gas right away it's when i am on the brake as well.........so i dunno...that's why i need help....
but thanks for the info man...appreciate it.!

you are disconnecting the spout connector when you set the timing correct?

a friend of mine had a similar problem with his 01 aod, check your Idle Air Control, mine went out in 01 5speed and it would rev high until the idle air kicked in and realized what was going on.

when mine went out it would almost die then rev to the moon the almost die etc, then it got to the point where the car would rev high then die. my buddies 01 AOD ended up being his IAC also, but might want to make sure the tranny has enough fluid, i had a 90 LX AOD that would do that if the fluid was low, hope that helps.

as for the 5.0 problem, if you figure it out let me know because my 86 auto trans 5.0 EFI f150 truck (which car be seen behind my car on my avatar) does the same thing and i havent had any luck figuring it out. it is really staring to tick me off.

Exclamation >>>problems<<<

hey thanks for the input, i'll check on that idle control today. i didn't figure that it would have a problem with the tranny kickin in like that...but these days everything is tied into everything...hahaha....but appreciate the advice...
as for the second problem, you and me both...i have had the car since it was 3 yrs old...and it was doing it then also. so i have been dealing with this for like 14yrs. but it's gettin worse and the missing stays in longer...it used to stay like that for only a month and then it got longer and longer...now it stays like that for almost 4 months.........
