Default Update problem with the stang

So as I explained about a month ago, my stang is running rough when it is in drive and idleing, or moving slowly. The problem went away and now it is back. This time the Check Engine light is staying on. As soon as the car is moving, the ride is fine, just when in idle and going under 5 MPH. The problem has gotten worse in that during the last week or so, my stang has stalled out a couple of times when it was in idle and not moving. But it starts back up fine.

Is this just a vaccum line issue? Also I'm up at college and want to drive home to get it looked at since there is a guy who takes care of our family and is a great mechanic...Problem is when I come home for break, it is about a 5 hour drive. Am I hurting the car at all by driving it in this condition? Thanks for the help.

bad spark plugs or bad vacuum. You need to fix that before you embark on giant drives.

check pcv valve hose, clamps on your airbox. check vacuum lines, clean your iac with carb cleaner.

I had the same problem w/ mine (except mine would only do it once a month and when the t-stat was just about to open). Spark plugs fixed the problem for me.

Default Problem

Also replace spark plug wires (unless you have coil packs), if not done recently and you are over 60,000 miles.
