Tie Rod Dust Boots

Default Tie Rod Dust Boots

Just finished installing my FRPP Handling Pack (wow, Eibach springs blow compared to this) and in the process, the dust boots for the tie-rod ball joints ripped thanks to the pickle forks. However, the shop I took it to for an alignment says I can't just replace the boots, I have to replace the whole tie-rod. Is this true because I'm not too sure if it is. If not, I'm assuming changing the boot involves disconnecting the tie-rod and replacing the boot right?

I dont even know if they sell just the boot, ive only ever seen the whole thing being sold.

Yeah, boots are sold hence the reason why I'm not to sure if the guy was right.
