Am concerned about some front suspension and steering noise that seems to be most notable when backing out of my driveway in the morning which requires that I
drop over a 3" curb and crank the wheel hard right onto the street.Then I crank the wheel hard left and proceed on my way.
Problem is during this process I am hearing a lot of clicks, clacks, and a
rather loud raatcheting noise that is a little bit disconcerting.
All of this is much more pronounced when the car is cold even though I try
to let it warm up in the morning for about 5 mins.
Any ideas as to what is going on?

Jack up the front of the car and look at all the linkages. Look for anything out of place or worn out. Things like bushing, ball joints, tie rod ends. Its impossible to say whats making any noise without looking at it.

 

Check your sway bar link bushings and all other bushings, they may be wore or one may have broke and fell out allowing the clanking noises.

 

had the same problem in mine, i took it to the dealership and found there was a TSB on the steering rack.

 

The same thing happend to my car, its an 03 GT, had it a month and it did the same thing, Found out that the bushings where shot.. Good Luck!
