Default Overdrive mode

Not too familar with Automatic transmissions for Drag racing-When Drag racing what's best Overdrive on? or Overdrive off? and why? While we're on the subject what is a "Trans Brake??" does it apply only to Automatic transmissions?

Thanks Bros!

I would say OFF. BUT, in reality, it won't make a difference because as long as your foot is on the floor, the car won't go into OD anyway.

Never let the car go into OD while in WOT that is bad for the overdrive band. A transbrake puts the car in first and reverse at the same time basically like having it in neutral so you can rev the motor. But once you let off the transbrake it pops right into first gear and your off.

if you forget to turn overdrive off your tranny will automatically shift into overdrive at 100-105 MPH. i know mine does.
