I have heard that gatorback belts are really nice.. ohh also i am about 1000 miles from 100K should i change the belt just because that reason??

it may or may not be the belt. 80% of the time its a pulley, either the tensioner pulley or an idler pulley. If you have high mileage and the belt is old you should just replace it anyways. Look at the underside, if you see little cracks everywhere replace it.
