Belt jumped off today.

Took the stang out for a spin today. I got on the pedal real hard and then quickly let off of it. Could that be why my belt jumped off???

The belt is not damaged at all.

The belt shouldn't jump off at all ever.The tensioner is probably at fault.

When the car is running should the tensioner be jerking back and forth or it should not be moving at all?
