Exclamation Short Belt

I own a 94 Mustang GT and the smog pump is making a crazy rattling squeely noise. Does anyone know where i can find a short belt to bypass it?? I appreciate any info. I have already replaced the water pump, front timing cover, and the harmonic balancer.

I know I'm not randy but, Route a piece of yarn or string throught the path minus the smog pump, cut it to length and then take it to auto zone and tell them you need a belt in that size. This is what I did on my camaro and got the right size belt the first time.

well if we're still talkin' @ a 6 rib set-up, Ford list (6) 6 rib belts, starting at 80.3", 81.0", 81.1", 81.2", 81.3" & 81.4" so take your pick and I'll get you a price.

ok, here goes: the Ford part # is F8RZ-8620-BA and the Motorcraft part # (which the aftermarket should be able to cross-over) is a JK6-810. our price is $33.66 and we would have to order. now the appt for this belt is a 1998 to 2000 Contour/Mystique 2.0 (4 cyl) wthout A/C. where are you located?

Well just being courteuos! Lol. Well i found the belt and it squeels like a pig so i ordered a smog pump eliminator kit for 65.00 . It should be here soon and all this will be over with. I wanted to ask u how much it would cost me to have a rebuilt tranny put in.

auto or manual ? & on the Smog stuff, just plug-up the hoses & tubes . now you'll prob get a MIL (check engine) and might have to get someone to tune it so the light stays off.

It is a 5-speed manual. When I drive it and go to second it makes a grinding noise , i believe it is the synchronizers. But it would probably be better just to get rebuilt. And I think there already might be a leek cuz the check engine light comes on every now and then. The engine runs like a champ, though.

well most shops are going tobe in the $400.00 to 700.00 range for a re-build, it might be cheaper to buy a new unit from someone like D&D Performance (248-735-6220) or www.ddperformance.com
