i have a steering rack leak and want to know if theres anything else in particular i need to replace but the actual rack. my car has about 58k miles so basically what im asking is there anything else i should replace due to normal wear and tear. know any good sites to buy?!!? thanks

Its straight forward just replace the rack, only extra might be stiffer or offset rack bushings otherwise just replace and don't worry again for awhile.

I've got 15,400 miles on my '03. I'm also on my 3rd steering rack. They seem to last about 2 winters up here in Fairbanks. All my replacements have been under warranty, so I'm no help, but (sorry) I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's had to replace the rack.

 

For replacement parts something like fordpartsonline.com or randy here might be able to give you a decent price you can find him in the ford parts section. Otherwise possibly ebay for a good used one off a newer car or napa, etc...
