Default general cost

Whats the general cost for a Dyno + tuning?

I will be paying $50 an hour for a dyno tune. Then for the race fuel its an extra $50, but you dont need to do that.

typically figure 125-175/hr for dyno time. For a tune you usually end up forking out a total of about 500 bones for the chip/tuner and the tune. I recommend a handheld, cuz you're gunna do more mods if you're asking this question and you'll want to update the tune as the mods get more serious.

yeah i have already purchased a tuner but the mail order ones arnt that great i heard so im looking to get a dyno tune

Out of the box they're never perfect. A dyno tune will help pull all the power out and help drivability. It's not mandatory but I'd at least do a run or two to check the AF.

About how much Trq, and hp do you gain by getting it dynoed/tuned.

depends on what bolt ons you have. if your stock still then maybe up to like 10hp.

it's not even necessarily about gaining anything. Sometimes you go in and lose a touch of peak power but come out with a tune that won't end you up with a smoked motor and has more area under the curve.

Don't get into dyno racing. Shooting for a peak number never ends well. Area under the curve and a safe/reliable tune is what matters.

Good point. I'm nervous about getting my car tuned.
