typically figure 125-175/hr for dyno time. For a tune you usually end up forking out a total of about 500 bones for the chip/tuner and the tune. I recommend a handheld, cuz you're gunna do more mods if you're asking this question and you'll want to update the tune as the mods get more serious.

it's not even necessarily about gaining anything. Sometimes you go in and lose a touch of peak power but come out with a tune that won't end you up with a smoked motor and has more area under the curve.
Don't get into dyno racing. Shooting for a peak number never ends well. Area under the curve and a safe/reliable tune is what matters.
