Default Adding Anti Lock Brakes ?

Anyone done it ?

I read that the ABS Module and TSC Module are a one piece unit in 04, but prior to that are separate.

Getting TCS would be a bonus for the rain but I wouldn't use it that much honestly, my main concern is the ABS.

Car is an 01 GT

it was ordered as a base model.

no ABS, no TCS, cloth seats, and no Mach 460 just the base single CD.

The other 3 dont bother me, as I've replaced them with aftermarket either way but I kinda wouldn't mind the ABS.

I'm sure I need the controller, the sensors and rings, some harnesess, but not absolutly sure WHAT all is involved.

Check to see if you have the exciter rings at the wheels. If not, it's too much money and bother. You have to replace the axles, and front spindles in such cases. Not mega expensive but a needless PITA and several hundred bucks. It's hard enough to remove that I just disabled mine instead.

Not sure if I do or not since I dont know what im looking for.

Axles will be upgraded here shortly to some 31 or 33 spline goodies, and ive read people who upgrade that have ABS buy new exiter rings anyhow because the old ones break when coming off.

I'm sure once I get the 5.4 in and the blower on it, I'm going to want a Bullitt upgrade, and the ABS would be a nice touch to go with it.

you're looking for a castelated ring about 5" across right behind the brake rotor. Usually the rotor shrouds it a bit. They usually do break off the axles but the front spindles are a little different.

If it's anything like a GM car you would probably need a new/different wiring harness. Maybe an electronic brake control module, and a brake pressure modulator valve, ect. Could get very pricey. Then finding someone to install and or program it could be difficult too. I work at a Pontiac dealership and here at least they usually shy away from projects like this. HTH.
