Default rear axle and houseing transplant

ok dont remember but i was wanting to know if my 98 gt's rear axle and houseing with 4.10s in it fit a 2003 mustang and vise-versa? asking cuz i know the 98's rears are shorter right?

Yes it'll fit, yes it's shorter. It'll look like crap with the wheels tucked in a bit more then normal but it will fit.

ok how much are we talking about? cuz im gonna get rid of my 98 and get a 03 gt and i want to keep my 4.10s but i also dont want to pay for the install on two cars.

I forget how much it is. I think it's 2 inches or something like that. Thing is that with that problem it seriously limits your tire/wheel combos, not to mention, and I hate to take a pontiac line" wider is better LOL. I'd just go ahead and order some new 4.10's. I've seen a 99+ car that had a pre98 rear end in it and well I don't know it just looks wrong...

You can always use spacers...Ah, the advantages of a Ford 9", too bad Ford never used the design after it was discontinued...

I have a 03GT with a 98 cobra axle. Same exact thing. Yes it'll tuck in but a set of 30mm spacers more than makes up for it. Search around and you're bound to find some pics of my car for comparison.

Or that. Didn't mention it since I don't like the idea of spacers personaly.

yeah come to think of it i would rather just buy some new gears along with a nice eaton posi.

In that case go ahead and upgrade the axels and launch the beast up high
