How do you roll your fender lips?
i need to roll the fender lips on my fox. i was supposed to borrow a pro roller that bolts to the wheel studs, but having a hard time getting a hold of it. i was wondering how everyone else here did theres?
also need to know where to massage the rear inner fenders on a fox to squeeze my 18x10 fr500's in there with 275/35 rubber.

well, im not paying $250 for the tool, supposed to borrow one but having a hard time getting ahold of the guy that borrowed it from a friend. no luck on finding a local shop. itll be another 2 months till the garage is built and i have power for the compressor.
guess ill figure sumtin out by the end of the week.

Here's a procedure I got from a buddy some time back. never tried it but it seems like it'd work...
tape off the fenderwell lip with painters masking tape. Slice down the length of the tape all the way through the paint (this will keep your paint from cracking wholesale). Grab a pair of joint locks and put a slip of leather on each jaw. Clamp down and bend away. Seal up the split with touch up paint and you're done.
Try it at your own risk... this is in fact now third-hand info.

minus the channel locks thats hwo you do it with a baseball bat. I covered the sides with tape,used a razor blade and cut threw the paint on the bottom on the lip in the fender. Then you roll the bat on the wheel and it will roll it. We sealed it with touch-up paint so it wouldnt come off or get water inside and rust.

i dont have any pics of it. but i know plenty of people that have done it.
you do run the risk of crinkling the outer fender though...
i think ill be using the slice and beat method. moving houses so i dont have the compressor so itll be an electric grinder, then ill prolly use a pair or vice grips to get the bend started right, then massage it with a hammer and a towel. i think...
but the car started last night, due to college dads been working on it some, he called and let me hear it... that cam sounds good. update this weekend...

this was a good 5 years ago or so before everyone had digi camera's. SO short answer is no. It works fine if you know what your doing.
