Default slp/mac header difference

Ok so would one brand of headers put out more than another? I'm looking at getting either slp or mac lt headers. I've noticed on 2 forum members cars that they're almost identical mod wise expect the one with slp headers have pullies on it. They both have vt stage 2 cams, full exhaust, sct dyno tune, 4.10's, but one has slp and the other mac. There's almost a 30hp difference. Is there really a difference, hp wise, between the two? Just curious.

The difference was probably more due to the tune and not the brand of headers. Header performance should all be pretty much the same. You pay for name and material of construction.

Also, you will see more gains by going with LT's and only small gains with shorties.

I kinda figured it would be in the tune. I'm looking more at the mac headers so I can spend more on other parts.

Find some used Mac or Flowtech LT's for cheap and send them to Jet Hot to get coated. Only difference between the two is you can drop 5 speed and auto trannys with Flowtech, you cant do that with Mac unless you remove the pass. side header. SLP, Bassani, Hooker, Kook, you are paying for the name.
