Default Stuck bolt prob...

I'm installing a Mac Prochamber and I trying to get the Magnaflow X-pipe off. I been able to get all the bolts loosened except one. Its on the passenger side, closest to the engine. Its a bitch to get to, just got back with a breaker bar and flexible extension, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, I'm done with my weekend project. Got the BP Blaster and soaked the bolt for about 30 minutes, then tried to get the nut off and stripped the d*** thing. Unfortunately, its christmas weekend, and I don't have the tools to take off a stripped nut, so sometime this next week when shops are open again, I'll need to try and find one that will remove that nut for me.

little trick get a 12 point socket a little smaller than the nut after you heated the nut drive the socket on it should be on there tight enough to take it off good luck

get a vice grips and clamp down on that bastard as hard as you can. you can then use a hammer to really strike it loose. sometimes it works, sometimes not. if you dont have access to a torch, goto a cig store and buy a butane torch (like a crack smokers lighter) and just goto town. they burn a lot hotter than your normal bic lighters.

You have obviously never tried to get to the particular nut that is being discussed, took me several different wobblies and cutting down a deepwell socket to get it off. I hate that nut.

Short sockets were too short, and the long one didn't allow me to get the angle that I needed. I cut off about 1/8 of an inch and it went smooth like butta.

Unless Matt had someone else install his midpipe, messed with those bolts before.

But you are right, the short sockets are too short and the deep ones are too deep. Luckily, I had the perfect length socket and removed mine without any issues.

Best way to do it now would be to just burn the socket on and buy a new bolt

Man, I was hoping that the x-pipe was going to be a simple "bolt-on" project since my available tools are pretty limited atm. I tried for hours to get that damn nut off. Ended up snapping a couple of 3/8" universal joints and warping a flexible extension. Looks like mine next tool purchases will be a grinder and some air tools. I posted a s.o.s on my local clubs board to see if anyone here would be interested in helping, its a good group, so I'm pretty sure someone will step up. Thanks for everyone suggestions, it is much appreciated.
