Default tranny prob

i have a grind if i shift into third too fast even if im not racing i have to let the shifter go into neutral then put it into third to keep it from grinding and heard that there was a recall for the 3650 transmissions for some reason i was wondering if anyone had this happen and did ford fix it for them since my warranty is now over

Definately get that TSB done. The 3650 has a nasty habit of popping out in 3rd at bad times.

Its a quazi-recall. If you take this to your local Ford dealer you can have them fix it for you free of charge, whether you are under your warranty or not. Some places you might have to bitch a bit more than others, but they are required to do it if requested.

Should I care that form to the dealer as proof? Has anyone in this forum had this fix?

i had it done i simpley told them i wanted the TSb done for my 3650 for grind ing etc.. and they did it no questions asked.

i have the same thing occuring...should i replace my hurst shifter w/ the stock one? cause i know that they can say that the shifter would have caused the short life of the syncros...i just wanna be on the safe side

i dont know if you should or not but i probably would just in case, it's like a 10 min job anyway.

how long did it take them to get the car back to you guys after they did it the reason i ask its my only commuter i need my car but if maybe 3or 4 days then yeah but if its like a 2 week thing then i just cant but thanks guys for the info

Hmm I can get mine fixed. I exhibit some of those problems, but Im out of warrenty at 48k miles on my 01.

Depends on if the parts are in stock or not. Its a 6 hour job, so depending on when the mechanic starts the job, it should take 2 days MAX from start to finish.

Er...nevermind what I just said. I didnt realize this was on a 3/36 situation.
