Yeah dumps are perfectly legal. Its just shortening the pipe after the muffler.

Dude, if you want dumps, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like cops ride around looking for peoples exhaust pipes anyway.

i have always herd that if the pipes aren't out of either the rear or the side that it wont pass emissions either, my father is a police officer and this is what he told me, Reason it not really being illegal but it is for saftey, because of the fumes getting into the passenger compartment!!!

Makes sense. Some places use sniffers and im sure they wont be happy crawling underneath your car to get to an exhaust opening.

I had turndowns on my 95 GT for about 1 year, the interior noise was louder, but made the car sound meaner. i could smell the exhaust sometimes at redlights or just sitting in the driveway. But never pulled over or anything.

Doesn't PA still do annual inspections? I would check with an inspection station first. I've heard things like "It needs to exit behind the passengers" and "it needs to exit out the side and not under the car" but not sure about PA.. I know they can be tight on some odd things

I have had turn downs on a few cars. In indiana its okay,as long as it turns down and its not just the pipe pointing back. Thats what I was told when I had them on a 69' road runner.

turndowns are legal in california which says to me they should be probably legal anywhere. I have em and have used them since ... probably 02'. I don't get pulled over for exhaust ever. They do increase interior noise a bit but if you don't use resonators like flowmasters then it's really not bad at all. I can still hold a conversation in the car unlike with the flows. My tips right now point straight out the back of the car with no downturn.

Trips out the guys at the carwash... they see me roll in and they ask themselves if it's a really loud 6 or a loud v8, then they ask me where the tail pipes are cuz they can't see them. If you do dumps, at least get yourself a V6 bumper so you don't have unused cutouts looking ghey.

You gotta pimp it...

True Blue FTW!
I think dumps are cool and everything, but on my car the bright polished SS tips match my polished SS inserts and polished 99 cobras...

They usually look brighter than that... bad lighting in that one lol
But r3d likes his sleeper look...

does it really look like a sleeper, or is it just the lack of visible tail pipes

If i rolled up to it at night, i woudl think it a sixer rebadged or something, before I would think it a GT with a sixer rear bumper. so yeah its basically the lack of visible tails
