Default Gears for Auto

Hey guys!

I have a 2004 Convertible Mustang GT that is an automatic and my daily driver. I want to get gears. My question is will 4.10 gears be too much for my car if I decide to supercharge it in a year or two? I also may swap my tranny from an auto to manual in the next year or two. Will 4.10 gears then be too much for a manual and supercharger down the road? Does anyone in here have 4.10 gears and a supercharger? If so, how does your car perform? Too much spinning out? Or awesome? I read the sticky thread on gears but I'm still not sure. Thanks for the help.

it'll be fine. just get the 4.10's and have a nice day. when you get a new tranny, then you can decide if they've become too much for you.

Put 4.10's in my auto about a month ago. Best money I've spent yet. Go with the 4.10.

With an auto definitly go with the 4:10's. What kind of blower you thinking about going with? Positive displacement (Kenne Bell), or centri ( Vortech, Procharger, Paxton) ?

I was thinking of going with a Vortech s/c down the road. The problem I have is that my closest mustang performance shop told me that an auto will not stand up to a s/c. He also said a 4.6 2V will probably blow if I go with a Kenne Bell. He said a Vortech will be a little easier on my engine because a Vortech builds up power, not instant power like the KB. So I am curious if I get the 4.10's will those be too much if I also get a s/c?

get 4.10 and then when u get a blower use a 28 inch slick. youl beneifit from the added traction of a higher sidewall tire
