Exclamation headlight gone

alright guys, I need some help. I got pulled over tonight because my front passenger side headlight was out. I just got a warning but I need to fix it by this weekend. I have an aftermarket warranty from a Ford dealership but Im pretty sure its void because of everything I have done. My question is 1) is the WHOLE warranty shot because of my mods, or just parts of the warranty? 2) How much do you think it would be for me just to have them fix it? and 3) Is it possible I can buy a bulb and fix it myself or is the ford dealership the only route to take. thanks in advance.

you only need to buy a bulb..ford will not replace wearable parts...I.E. lights, clutches ect....

MT carries them...i think you need the 9007's

if it's just a bulb then you can run to walmart and pick one up cheap and fix it yourself. Easier than hell, but you do have to pop your hood and take the assembly off.

pop the hood, pull up on the clips, yours look like a 99 and up stang, then pull the headlight out alittle, undo the wire connector, twist the black ring on the back and take the bulb out, then go in reverse for install

BIG NOTE, on the new bulb do not touch the bulb itself, touch the black plastic when installing. If you touch the bulb, the oil from your fingers will cause the bulb to heat up more in that area and your bulb will burn out faster.

keep in mind that these cars are designed to be easy to make which means easy to put together and take apart. in general there are very few things you can't do to the car with the most basic of hand tools.

Your warranty is only void for the parts you replaced. Your dealer must prove that the modifications you made are directly responsible for any failures that they deny warranty coverage for. If you replace your air filter and your engine goes, they can't say that the warranty is void because you put a K&N filter on it unless that filter failed to filter the thing that the engine sucks in to cause it to blow. The reality of the situation is that if you're modding your car, cash in your warranty because you've decided to toss it out the window by swapping parts all over the place. As you mod be aware that you will break parts in proportion to the amount of abuse you subject your car to. I've had to do thousands in repairs to my car and I knew that that would happen from the moment I first dropped lowering springs on it.

the springs didn't cause any damage... the abuse did. The springs were my sign from Gawd that I'd be whoopin on the thing from then on and I accepted that significant repairs would be forthcoming. They were.

Yes, you can cash in your warranty. You'll get a pro-rated refund based on how much of it you've used based on time and mileage. I cashed mine in when I wrecked my 01, that got me an extra 800 bucks which I used as part of the down payment on my 03 a few days later.

I even cashed in my wifes warranty on her Saturn before I traded it in on her Taurus.
