Default Clutch Problem

I recently had a SPEC stage 1 clutch put in my 03 GT and when I got the car back from the shop I noticed right away that I didnt have much pedal at all. I took the car back to the shop the next day to have it adjusted. The guy at the trans. shop told me that it was a self adjusting system and there was nothing they could adjust. So next I posted a thread on the forum here about my problem and I was told to get a quadrant and a firewall adjuster for it. Well I put the quad and the firewall adjuster on yesterday, I left the stock cable in as advised and now the clutch feels like its alot smoother and the cable is nice and tight but I still have no clutch pedal. I have to let the pedal about 80%-90% before the car starts to move. Im new to the mod. biz and was wondering what I should try next. Is there somthing at the clutch end of the cable that needs to be adjusted??? Any ideas?

Thx Jan

The firewall adjuster has something on it that you can turn and make the clutch to your liking. The Steeda ones supposedly can be adjusted almost to the ground.

I tried turning it bolth ways as far as it will go and it only makes the tension on the cable harder or softer. I got the whole steeda clutch cable kit, could it be the stock cable?

reach down and pull on the clutch pedal, it might be stuck like a friend of mines was to where it seems like he had no clutch at all similar to yours. If it is stuck, then when it pops back like it should be, you will know it!

I have a Spec stage III in mine, and my pedal is exactly the same way. I have to let up on the pedal about 90% of the way for the car to even budge. I'm about used to it though...

Is the end of your clutch cables, that attach to the clutch fork adjustable? Check that adustment. I've always had aftermarket cable and they adjust, when i install them, i have to put a pole or breaker bar and put pressure on the clutch fork to tighten the cable down, which will give you the ability to move your fork closer or farther away, which will effect your pedal play.
